Modern ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and personal watercraft ship with either lead-acid (flooded, AGM, or sealed maintenance-free) or Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries. Lithium is increasingly factory-standard on high-performance models and popular as an aftermarket upgrade for weight reduction and cold-weather starting. Lead-acid and Lithium batteries each perform best with a charger tuned to their specific chemistry. Battery Tender® Multi-Chemistry chargers include a manual chemistry selector that switches between the correct ISM algorithm for each type — making them the ideal choice for any powersports battery, lead-acid or Lithium, new or upgraded.

Lithium (LiFePO4) powersports batteries charge at higher absorption voltages than lead-acid and require a different float maintenance protocol. Use a Battery Tender® Junior Multi-Chemistry or any PowerTender® Multi-Chemistry model with the chemistry selector set to Lithium. ISM then delivers the correct LiFePO4 4-stage charging profile: initialization, bulk charge at the correct Lithium absorption voltage, absorption taper, and the proper Lithium maintenance protocol. Never use a lead-acid-only charger on a Lithium powersports battery.

Dirt bikes and small displacement motorcycles with batteries from 3 to 14Ah: Battery Tender® Junior 750mA or 1 Amp. Standard motorcycles, powersports vehicles, and personal watercraft with batteries from 14 to 30Ah: Battery Tender® Plus 1.25 Amp or Junior Multi-Chemistry. ATVs, UTVs, and larger powersports with batteries from 14 to 100Ah: PowerTender® 3 Amp to 5 Amp Multi-Chemistry for balanced speed and ISM precision. For vehicles with factory or aftermarket Lithium batteries at any size, select the corresponding Multi-Chemistry model and set the chemistry selector to Lithium before connecting.

Connect a Battery Tender® maintainer to the snowmobile battery after the last ride and leave it connected through summer storage.
