The Florida Insider Fishing Report and Battery Tender Relationship

In late July, the Battery Tender CEO had the privilege of being a featured guest on Florida Insider Fishing Report, a fishing forecast show that features useful products for fishermen and boaters and provides updates on what fish are biting all over the state of Florida.

Florida Insider Fishing Report has featured Battery Tender products in previous shows, including the WaveCharge 4-bank Multibank Charger and DC-to-DC Trolling Motor Plug. However, our CEO, Michael Prelec, Jr., visited the set of the popular fishing show to share more information about Battery Tender and how we’re impacting the marine industry.

Michael Prelec, Jr. and Rick Murphy discuss Battery Tender products on Florida Insider Fishing Report.

Battery Tender and its Marine Footprint

“We’ve actually been in the marine industry for 35 years now”, Prelec said when Murphy asked him what made Battery Tender commit to a fishing show. While being known more for automotive and powersports maintenance, Battery Tender also offers many marine products, from trolling motor plugs to multibanks to solar panel battery chargers. During our visit to the set, we spoke with Rick specifically about our latest line of multibanks, the WaveCharge Pro line, and our upcoming PowerPlus line.

“[The WaveCharge Pro] is designed for the fisherman, or captain, or tournament fisherman who has a lot of batteries,” Prelec said. “Maybe a 36 Volt trolling motor plus their starter battery - they’ve got to bring it up real fast overnight because they’re fishing multiple days back-to-back, so he’s sure to get a full charge overnight.”

The Battery Tender WaveCharge Pro on-board marine battery charger is the ideal solution for all your marine battery charging needs. With its rugged construction and advanced features, this charger is designed to keep your batteries in peak condition, ensuring reliable performance and extended battery life. The WaveCharge Pro is available in two (20 AMP), three (30 AMP), and four (40 AMP) bank configurations, each providing 10 AMPs per bank.

Alternatively, the PowerPlus charger “is designed for the fishermen that are now running single 36-volt lithium batteries in their boat,” according to Prelec.

The Battery Tender PowerPlus On-Board Charger and Maintainer provides high-voltage power in a compact package. This IP68 weather-resistant charger is perfect for marine applications, offering interchangeable adapters. On-board installation is seamless, and the included mounting bracket ensures your charger stays secure. PowerPlus On-Board Chargers and Maintainers are available in 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V variations.

Murphy couldn’t let Mike leave the show without mentioning a Battery Tender favorite among the marine community — the DC-to-DC trolling motor plug.

“Tell me why this works so well,” said Murphy.

Prelec explained that the plug is bulletproof with its locking pin, which indicates a secure connection instead of having exposed pins.

“If you accidentally kick [the plug] while on the deck fishing, it’s not going to come loose,” Prelec said. "It will stay secure, so it’s not going to bend and [get corroded].”
